Overview When exposed to the air, copper naturally oxidyzes. It turns black and then green. In this project, two antique copper tubs were suffering from years of interacting with the oxygen in the air. We managed to clean them up and get these storage units back in a presentable condition.

Young students were exposed to painting and refinishing concepts with a variety of visual aids. Cleaning Oxidized Copper Sconces

Overview Heritage Restoration and Design Studio cleaned and re-coated six oxidized outdoor wall sconces for a city landmark. Half a century of exposure to the elements had tarnished the copper to the point where it had corroded into copper carbonate. After cleaning, coating and some new fiberglass panels, the refinished sconces look fresh and clean!
